Carriage Charges

1. UK Deliveries inc Northern Ireland (excluding certain heavier goods - please contact us if unsure) & the Isle of Wight FREE subject to our £ 5.00 minimum order value.
2. UK Offshore Islands inc Eire £ 5.95 (please also see following conditions)
3. Rest of the World orders under 1Kg £ 14.00
4. Non UK orders over 1Kg there is an additional surcharge. Please contact us for rates (please also see charges relating to heavier items).
5.  Certain heavier items, eg, the Hahn and GNU ranges of airers and racks carry an extra carriage charge to places outside of the UK Mainland - Please contact us for rates.

Terms

1. All transactions are in pounds sterling.

2. Delivery method is Royal Mail, Parcel Force or by a courier/freight service as appropriate (Airmail for overseas unless requested otherwise by customer).

3. UK Delivery
We will aim to despatch goods within 3-4 working days (next day service is available on weekdays, at the customers expense - please enquire for rates), however, please allow up to 28 days for items that are out of stock or handmade. 

4. Overseas Delivery
Including UK Offshore Islands & Eire please allow 14-21 days for delivery. There may be an additional 21day delay if an item is out of stock or handmade.

5. Christmas Deadlines
Please send your orders as early as possible, but to be placed no later than:
United Kingdom ~ 19th December 2008 (last working dispatch date for 1st class).
Europe, Channel Islands & Eire ~ 12th December 2008
USA ~ 10th December 2008
Rest of the World ~ 5th December 2008
After any of the above dates please contact us, as special delivery may be available at a surcharge.

6. Damaged goods must be returned within 14 days for refund or replacement to the address below.

7. All goods are subject to availability.

8. The prices of the goods for sale remain valid until such a time that they are changed on this website. Any goods ordered will be charged at the price quoted on the website at the time the order was placed.

9. The customer has a right to cancel the order within 7 working days of receipt of the goods (with the exception of made to order items). They will then be entitled to return the goods in an undamaged and unused condition in their original packaging, to the address below. A full refund including delivery postage and packaging will be given within 30 days. On cancellation 'Days Gone By' will not be able to refund return postage and packing costs incurred by the customer.  ***Kindly note there may be a restocking charge upon cancellation of larger items - eg kitchen trolleys***

10.Wherever possible we try to be as environmentally conscious as possible & this includes our packaging! We often recycle our packaging materials & re-use boxes, bubble wrap & shredded paper - do let us know if your purchases are intended as gifts & you would prefer traditional brown paper!

11. WEEE Regulations:

The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive is now U K law. The legislation aims to make producers pay for the collection, treatment and recovery of waste electrical equipment.  The regulations also mean that suppliers of equipment like high street shops and internet retailers must allow consumers to return their waste equipment free of charge.  

The amount of WEEE we throw away is increasing by around 5% each year, making it the fastest growing waste stream in the UK.  

·         Much of the UK’s WEEE ends up in landfill, where the lead and other toxins it contains can cause soil and water contamination. This can have a harmful effect on natural habitat, wildlife and also human health.

 Many electrical items that we throw away can be repaired or recycled.  Recycling items helps to save our natural finite resources and also reduces the environmental and health risks associated with sending electrical goods to landfill.  Distributors of new Electric and Electronic Equipment (EEE) have a part to play in reducing the amount of WEEE going into landfill sites.

Days Gone By are obliged under these regulations to offer our customers free take-back of their WEEE on a like-for-like basis when you buy from us a new Electrical or Electronic product.  

For example, if a customer bought a new EEE item from us we would accept their old WEEE item and prevent it going into a landfill site by disposing of it safely. Customers must return their WEEE item to us within 28 days of purchasing their new item.  

Under the WEEE Regulations, all new electrical goods should now be marked with the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol. 

Goods are marked with this symbol to show that they were produced after 13th August 2005, and should be disposed of separately from normal household waste so that they can be recycled.
